2014-12-25

On December 15th 2014, Baidu Antivirus received certification from the BSI Group (British Standards Institution) for its excellent management of information security.

“Baidu Antivirus is getting more and more popular. We recently reached 70 million downloads worldwide, and that number keeps growing,” said Sam Dong, team leader of Baidu Antivirus. “With so many people using Baidu Antivirus, user safety is our responsibility. In addition to protecting people from viruses, Trojans and malware, we are fully dedicated to ensuring their information security,” he said.

The internationally recognized certification, named ISO/IEC 27001, is granted to products that meet all of BSI’s stringent best practice requirements for information security. As described on the BSI Group’s website, “[ISO/IEC 27001] helps you identify the risks to your important information and put in place the appropriate controls to help reduce the risk”. The certification was most recently updated in 2013, and now includes best practice framework for enterprise information management, risk control, product standardization, product development and more.

“In this digital age, information security is a very important consideration for all of us,” said Dong. “Baidu Antivirus users everywhere deserve a safe, reliable, secure experience. That’s why it was so important for us to seek certification from a world renowned organization.”

In addition to Baidu Antivirus, Baidu’s Japanese language text input app Simeji also received ISO/IEC 27001 certification. For more information on ISO/IEC 27001, visit the BSI Group website at: http://www.bsigroup.com/en-GB/iso-27001-information-security/ .
